BMW has launched the petrol powered variants of their X3 and X5 SUVs in India. The X3 xDrive28i xLine is priced at Rs. 54.90 lakh and the X5 xDrive35i Design Pure Experience (5 seater) is priced at Rs. 73.50 lakh ex showroom Delhi.
The X3 comes with a 2.0 litre 4 cylinder twin turbo petrol engine that develops 245 horsepower and 350 Nm of torque.It goes from 0 to 100 kph in 6.5 seconds. The X5 features a 3.0 litre inline 6 cylinder twin turbo petrol motor that makes 306 horsepower and 400 Nm of maximum torque. It does the 0 to 100 kph sprint in 6.5 seconds. Both engines are mated to eight speed automatic gearboxes. While the X3 gets the Steptronic transmission, the X5 features the Sport Steptronic gearbox. Both SUVs come with the XDrive all wheel drive system.Other features in the X5 include Navigation system Professional with 3D maps, the iDrive Touch with handwriting recognition (with 26 cm screen) , high-end Surround Sound system from Harman Kardon, rear-view camera and touch screen. The X3 comes with iDrive Touch controller with 22.3 cms high-definition colour display, hi-fi loudspeaker system and Rear View camera.
