The BMW X# M has launched in India at a price of Rs. 99.90 lakh ex showroom. The X3 will be sold in India as a CBU.
The X3 M comes powered by a 3.0 litre six cylinder twin turbo petrol engine that develops 480 horsepower and 600 Nm of torque. It goes from 0 to 100 in 4.2 seconds and has a top speed of 250 kph. The engine comes mated to an 8 speed M Steptronic gearbox that sends power to all four wheels via the M xDrive all wheel drive system. The M xDrive system has a rear-wheel bias & features four driving modes that optimise performance. The centrally controlled interaction between M xDrive & the Active M Differential at the rear axle allows the all-wheel-drive system to split the engine’s power between the four wheels.
Additionally it gets M-specific suspension – with its double-joint spring strut front axle & five link rear axle – deliver precise wheel location & directional stability. Composed to deliver precisely controllable on-limit handling, the chassis technology package rounds off with M-specific steering (including M Servotronic & variable ratio) & powerful M compound brakes.
On the exterior, the BMW X3 M gets the trademark BMW kidney grille with black double bars, Adaptive LED headlamps, M gills integrated into the air intakes on the front fenders, slightly hexagonal and 20 inch M alloy wheels. The exterior mirrors’ special M design brings about a further reduction in aerodynamic drag.
The interior features am M instrument cluster with BMW Live Cockpit, sports seats with memory function, panoramic sunroof, ambient lighting, M steering wheel, M gear selector, Vernasca leather upholstery, 12.3-inch Multifunction touchscreen infotainment, iDrive Touch Controller, multifunction steering wheel’s buttons, the voice control feature along-with the optional BMW Gesture Control. It also gets BMW Virtual Assistant, telephony with wireless charging, & hi-fi speaker system. It gets a 40 20:40 split-folding rear backrest, enabling luggage capacity to be increased to a maximum of 1,600 litres.
Safety features include front, side & head airbags, Dynamic Stability Control (DSC) including M Dynamic Mode, Cornering Brake Control (CBC), Dynamic Brake Control, Dry Braking function, Cruise Control with braking function along with Collision & Pedestrian Warning with City Braking function.
The options list for the BMW X3 includes 21-inch light alloy wheels, BMW Display Key, M Sport exhaust, M Driver’s package & Harman Kardon Surround Sound System.
