BMW to increase i8 production
The BMW i8 has seemed to become a bit hit with buyers which has lead to a waiting list. It is said that there was an 18 month waiting list for the car. To keep up with demand, BMW has decided to increase production at its Leipzig factory in Germany. Production has gone up from 10 cars a day to 20 cars a day. BMW production boss Harald Krueger said the average waiting time of four months will be reduced thanks to increased production.
BMW recently launched the i18 hybrid sportscar in India at a price of Rs. 2.29 crore. A number of i8 cars have been imported into the country and deliveries to customers have already begun.
BMW is also looking to come up with a new ‘i’ model after the i3 and the i8. This will be the third model the ‘i’ lineup of cars and will not based on any of the existing cars.
