BMW has launched the 520d M Sport in India at a price of Rs. 54 lakh all India ex showroom. The car will be produced at BMW’s plant in Chennai.
The BMW 520d M Sport comes with the M Package as standard. The package includes double spoke 18 inch M light alloy wheels, sport bumpers and side skirts, exhaust pipe finishers in dark chrome and a diffuser in Dark Shadow Metallic. There are M badges on the front fenders and the car also gets Adaptive LED headlamps.
The interior of the BMW 520d M Sport features electrically adjustable sport front seats, M multifunction steering wheel, leather upholstery, aluminium hexagon interior trim strip. BMW Individual headliner Anthracite and M door sills.
Power comes from a 2.0 litre twin turbo diesel engine developing 190 horsepower and 400 Nm of torque. It goes from 0 to 100 kph in 7.7 seconds and has a top speed of 233 kph. The engine is mated to an eight speed automatic gearbox. Gears can also be shifted manually via paddle shifters on the steering wheel.
Other standard features multifunction instrument display, the next generation of BMW iDrive (the on-board Driver Information System) with 25.9 cm color display, BMW Navigation system Professional with 3D maps (integrated Global Positioning System-GPS), BMW Apps, Park Distance Control, Rear View Camera and Connectivity through Bluetooth / USB devices. include Auto Start-Stop, ECO PRO modes (ECOPRO, Comfort, Sport), Brake-Energy Regeneration and 50:50 Weight Distribution.
Safety features include six air bags, Anti-Lock braking system, Dynamic Stability Control (DSC) including Dynamic Traction Control (DTC); Cornering Brake Control (CBC); Hill Descent Control (HDC); Side-impact Protection; Electronic vehicle immobiliser, emergency spare wheel and crash sensor.
BMW also sells the 530d diesel and 520i petrol in India.
