BMW has silently launched the 1 Series facelift in India. Unlike earlier, the updated model will be available only with a diesel engine and in one trim level. The pre facelift model had a petrol engine option as well.The new car measures 4329 mm in length, 1765 mm in width, and 1440 mm in height, making it longer and taller the previous model. There is a new big front grille along with wider headlamps and day time running LEDs as standard. The rear also gets larger new LED tail lamps. The front and rear bumpers are get styling updates as well giving the car a more aggressive look.On the interior, it gets a new infotainment system, piano black finish on the centre console, chrome bits on the radio and AC vents, and matte silver accents on the door handles. The 1 Series will now get single zone climate control as standard with the option of a dual zone system.
Mechanically, the 1 Series is powered by a 2.0 litre turbocharged diesel engine developing 148 bhp and 320 Nm torque. The engine is mated to an eight speed automatic gearbox with power being sent to the rear wheels.
