The Bentley Bentayga has been launched in India at a starting price of Rs. 3.85 crore ex showroom Delhi. The Bentayga made its global debut at the Frankfurt Motor Show last year and the first cars were delivered to their owners at the company’s headquarters in Crewe.
Described as the as “the fastest, most power, most luxurious and most exclusive SUV in the world.”, the Bentley Bentayga is powered by an all new 6.0 litre W12 twin turbo petrol engine that develops 600 bhp @ 6000 rpm and 900 Nm torque coming up from from 1,250 rpm to 4,500 rpm. It sprints from 0 to 100 kph in 4.1 seconds and has a top speed of 301 kph. The engine is mated to an eight speed automatic gearbox and a four wheel drive system. It features the Bentley’s Variable Displacement system, which shuts down half of the engine under defined conditions. Intake and exhaust valves, fuel injection and ignition are all shut down on defined cylinders, with the engine running as a six-cylinder for improved efficiency. Bentley has added advanced start-Stop technology for the Bentayga, where coasting is also available, as the engine rests not only when the vehicle is stationary but also at ‘near to stop’ speeds.
The interior is as luxurious as you would expect from a Bentley combining handcrafted wood and leather throughout the cabin. The electric front seats come with 22 way adjustment, including adjustable cushion and backrest bolsters. A six-programme massage system, seat heating and ventilation is also included. There is a 8” touch screen infotainment system boasts navigation technology, a 60GB hard drive, and a choice of up to 30 languages. The rear passengers get the Bentley Entertainment Tablet – a removable 10.2” Android device with 4G, WiFi and Bluetooth for effortless, high-speed on-board connectivity. The Bentayga can be ordered in four or five seater configurations.
Only 20 units of the Bentley Bentayga have been to India this year, and all of them have been sold out.
