The Volkswagen Tiguan SUV made its India debut at the Auto Expo 2016. It is expected to launch in 2017. This is the seconds generation of the Tiguan.
This SUV is built on the the MQB platform shared with the new Octavia. While the Tiguan comes with multiple engine options abroad, the India spec version is expected to come with a 2.0 litre diesel engine. Transmission for the Tiguan will be in the form of a 7 speed DSG gearbox. The show car at the expo came with a 2.0 TSI petrol engine that develops 180 horsepower. It features 4MOTION Active Control lets the driver adjust the all-wheel drive system more individually and easier to all possible driving conditions. The Tiguan gets dual LED headlamps with twin chrome slats. The bumper has a large hexagonal grille with integrated fog lamps. A streak runs across the side of the SUV which merges into the tail lamps. The bottom side of the doors come with black cladding There is a large rear wind shield along with LED tail lamps and a VW logo mounted on the tail gate. It also features roof rails.
