Jaguar showcased the new XF sedan at the Auto Expo 2016. The car is expected to launch in India by the end of this year.
At first glance you can notice the similarities with its smaller sibling, the XE. The car is actually 7 mm shorter and 3 mm lower than the older car. The wheelbase is 2960 mm which is 51 mm longer than before. The new Jaguar XF uses aluminium as major component in its construction which makes it 190 kg lighter than its predecessor. On the inside, the new XF gets a new InControl Touch Pro Infotainment system with a 10.2 screen. There is a Bespoke 825W Meridian digital surround sound system with 17 speakers and there is a new 12.3 inch TFT instrument cluster.
The new XF comes with a 2.0 litre Ingenium diesel engine putting out 163 horses and 380 Nm torque along with a more powerful version putting out 180 horsepower and 430 Nm torque. There is also a twin turbo 3.0 V6 engine putting out 300 horsepower and 700 Nm torque and a 3.0 V6 supercharged motor with 380 horsepower and 450 Nm. All engines are mated to an 8 speed automatic gearbox while the 2.0 Ingenium engine has the option of a specially tuned 6 speed manual tranny.
