Audi confirms Q8 launch in 2019
The Q7 will no longer be the flagship SUV in Audi’s Q range. The company has officially announced that the bigger Q8 will go on sale globally in 2019.
The company’s R&D boss Ulrich Hackenberg has already promised the Q8 will be more “coupe-like” than the Q7 and it will have a more emotional and sporty design influenced by the Prologue Concept. Audi also revealed plans to launch a baby SUV, the Q1 to its model range. It has been confirmed for a 2016 launch.
Audi is also planning to launch a sporty hybrid SUV in 2018. This will be based on the second gen Q7 and will come with a 100 KWh battery pack that would give a driving range of 500 kms before needing a recharge. This new SUV could get the Q6 moniker.
