Tata has launched the Aeris compact sedan at Rs. 5.29 lakh ex-showroom. The Aeris replaces the Tigor in the model portfolio.
The Aeris borrows design and styling elements from the Tiago hatchback. There are sleek LED headlamps with with integrated DRLs, the front bumper gets some revised detailing and ice cube LED fog lamps with a front camera located below the Tata logo. The Aeris gets new 15-inch diamond-cut aero alloy wheels.
At the rear, the LED tail lamps are connected by a light bar. There is Aeris badging the in the middle of the boot lid under the logo. A centrally mounted reversing lamp on the bumper and a reversing camera above the number plate completes the rear.
The Aeris comes in six colours: Dandeli Drizzle, along with Nitro Crimson, Dune Glow, Daytona Grey, Pure Grey and Pristine White. All get a contrast black roof.
The interior features design language from the Tiago as well. There is a a 12.7 cm digital instrumentscluster for the driver, a 2-spoke steering wheel with tactile buttons and paddle shifters (AMT), 26.03 cm HD touchscreen infotainment screen with wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay and iRA with over 35 connected features, wireless smartphone charging pad and a 6-speaker sound system. Front seats get ventilation, leatherette upholstery and extended thigh support and a padded centre armrest. Other features include automatic climate control, rear AC vents and 65W Type-C charging ports, and a centre armrest with cupholders at the rear.
The Aeris uses the same engines that are seen in the Tiago. There is a 1.2 litre naturally aspirated petrol engine developing 84 horsepower and 113 Nm torque, while the CNG variant gets 75 hp and 96 Nm. Both get the choice of a 5-speed manual and AMT.
SAfety features include  includes 6 airbags as standard, with ABS with EBD & CSC, ESP, hill hold, TPMS and ISOFIX. Additionally you get a first-in-segment blind view monitor and multiview digital video recorder, a 360° camera with multiple 2D and 3D views. iCNG variants get dedicated safeguards including leak detection, advanced leak-proof materials, thermal incident protection and rear crash protection.
The Aeris is comes in five variants: Smart, Pure, Pure+, Creative and Accomplished. Prices at Rs. 5.29 lakh for the base Smart variant and go up to Rs. 9.74 lakh for the Accomplished CNG AMT, ex-showroom.
