Reports are coming in that BMW may be working on a 9 Series Coupe which could be the flagship model for the Bavarian car maker.

If the project goes ahead, the new car could be based on the next gen Rolls Royce Phantom with CFRP for the passenger cell. There are no design concepts that have been approved yet but it could be inspired from the Vision Future Luxury Concept.

Engines could comprise of 3.0 petrol and diesel motors, 4.4 litre turbocharged petrol and and a hybrid unit as well.

The 9 Series Coupe will be targeted at buys in the USA, China and UK and will rival the Mercedes Benz S Class Coupe.
