Volvo S60 T6 launched at Rs. 42 lakh
The Volvo S60 T6 has been launched in India at a price of Rs. 42 lakh ex showroom Delhi.
The Volvo S60 T8 comes with a front wheel drive layout and is powered by a 2.0 litre turbo charged and supercharged petrol engine that develops 306 horsepower and 400 Nm torque. It does the 0 to 100 kph sprint in a claimed 5.9 seconds and has a top speed of 230 kph. The engine is mated to an eight speed automatic gearbox which comes with paddle shifters mounted behind the steering wheel.
The T6 is sold in only the top of the line Inscription variant and will come with features that are in the similar trim level diesel model. The Volvo S60 T5 comes with a host of safety features like City Safety, Side Impact Protection System and Whiplash Protection. The T6 also gets the Personal Car Communicator which is an advanced pocket-sized control centre which holds valuable security information for the owner about the car’s current lock and alarm status. It uses the latest remote smart key technology and a highly sensitive heartbeat sensor, a world first, to detect if an intruder is present in the car.
When in range (up to 100m) the PCC shows if the car is locked, if the alarm is activated or if the alarm has been triggered and whether someone is actually in the car. The PCC also includes keyless entry and keyless drive.
This the fourth launch from Volvo this year after the XC 90 SUV, V40 Cross Country petrol and the V40 hatchback. The T6, like other Volvos will be sold in India as a CBU.
Volvo also inaugurated a new dealership in Chennai along with the T6 launch. The new showroom, Artemis Cars is spread over an area of 4600 sqft. The company plans to open 20 showrooms pan India by March 2016.
