Rumours of the Mercedes Benz competitor to the Audi TT has been doing the rounds for sometime now and here is what it could look like. This rendering has been done by Theophilus Chin.

The new car could be a part of the next gen A Class line up and will ride on Mercedes’ MFA platform. While it would primarily be a front wheel drive, an 4MATIC option could also be offered.

The top end version of the TT competitor is expected to come with 400 bhp with the engine mated to a six speed dual clutch gearbox. It should hit 100 kph from a standing start in less than 4.5 seconds with an electronically top speed of 250 kph.

Design wise, it is expected to have a 2+2 coupe with a liftback layout and could come with a 350 litre boot. No name has been decided for the car yet but it could be called the ‘SLA’. If the car is approved for production, it could be launched in 2019.
