It has been a long time coming but the 2019 Audi A6 sedan has been launched in India at prices starting at Rs. 54.20 lakh all India ex showroom. The new A6 is the first product launch for the car maker this year.
The new Audi A6 gets a larger single frame front grille along with LED headlamps and LED DRLs. ( It also comes with Matrix headlamps). The rear gets redesigned LED tail lamps with dynamic turn indicators and a chrome strip running between them. There are also new design 18 inch alloy wheels. In terms of overall dimensions, the new A6 is larger than its predecessor.
The new Audi A6 gets an entirely redesigned interior. There are two new touchscreens for the latest MMI infotainment system and very few buttons for use in the cabin. Other features include Audi’s Virtual Cockpit, a Bang & Olufsen 3D sound system, four zone climate control, ambient lighting, wireless charging, panoramic sunroof, leather/leatherette upholstery, powered front seats with memory function.
The new Audi A6 will be available with a single engine option. The 45TFSI comes with a BS VI compliant 2.0 four cylinder petrol engine that develops 245 horsepower and 370 Nm of torque. Power is sent to the front wheels via a 7-speed dual clutch automatic gearbox. It does the 0-100 kph sprint in 6.8 seconds.
Colour options for the new Audi A6 include Ibis White, Firmament Blue, Myth Black, Seville Red and Vesuvious Grey.
The new Audi A6 rivals the Mercedes-Benz E-Class, BMW 5-Series, Volvo S90 and the Jaguar XF in India.
