The second generation Audi RS5 coupe has been launched in India at a price of Rs. 1.1 ex showroom. The RS5 is based on the A5 Sportback that was recently launched in India along with the S5 and A5 Convertible.
The new RS5 features a 2.9 litre twin turbo V6 engine that replaces the naturally as pirated V8 from the previous car. The new engine develops 450 horsepower and 600 Nm of torque. It does the 0 to 100 kph sprint in a claimed 3.9 seconds and has a limited top speed of 250 kph. You can also increase the top speed to 280 kph as a paid option. The engine comes mated to an eight speed automatic gearbox that powers all four wheels via the quattro all wheel drive system.
On the exterior, the new RS5 features Matrix LED headlamps a standard, flared wheel arches that are 15 mm wider than the A5, wide single frame front grille, 19 inch 10 star design alloy wheels, ORVMs with black housing panoramic sunroof and optional aluminium and carbon exterior package.
It measures 472mm in length, 1861 mm wide, 1360 height and a wheelbase of 2766 mm. The new car is also 60 kg lighter than its predecessor.
The RS themed interior features front super sports seats finished in alcantara leather upholstery with nappa a an option. The front seats are electrically adjustable and come with memory function for the driver’s seat. Other features include a three spoke flat bottom sports steering wheel, 3 zone auto climate control, Android Auto, Apple Car Play ambient lighting and illuminated door sills that feature the RS5 logo.
The RS5 is sold in India as a fully imported CBU.
