The second generation Tesla Roadster has broken cover at the Semi truck reveal event.

The new Tesla Roadster is powered by three electric motors powering all four wheels. It can go from 0 to 96 kph in a mind boggling 1.9 seconds and to a top speed of over 402 kph. What’s more, it can go a 1,000 kms from a single charge of the 200kW battery.

On the exterior the Roadster features LED headlamps, slim tail lamps and an aggressive looking diffuser. The car has a two door layout but comes with four seats. It comes with a removable glass roof that can be stored in the boot

During his at the Roadster unveil, Elon Musk said that the new car is aimed to serve a final nail in the coffin of internal combustion engine powered cars. With these kind of performance figures, we surely dont doubt that claim.

The new Tesla Roadster will go on sale in the international market in 2020. The base price starts at $200,000 with a reservation amount of $50,000. For the hardcore Tesla lovers there is also a Roadster Founders Series Edition priced at $250,000.
