Close on the heels of the GLE400, German luxury car maker Mercedes-Benz has launched the GLS400 petrol in India. The Mercedes-Benz GLS400 is priced at Rs. 82.90 lakhs ex showroom Delhi.
The GLS400 is powered by a 3.0 V6 petrol engine that develops 333 horsepower and 480 Nm of torque that comes from 1600 rpm. The engine comes mated to a 9G-Tronic nine speed automatic gearbox and has a top speed of 240 kph. The GLS400 features DYNAMIC SELECT that offers 5 driving modes: Comfort, Sport, Slippery, Individual and Off-Road.
Standard features on the GLS400 include COMMAND infotainment system with a high resolution 8 inch screen with Touchpad, new gen telematics, smartphone integration with Apple CarPlay, mirror package with brand logo projection, memory function for front seats, all wheel drive, Airmatic suspension with adaptive damping, full LED headlamps with Intelligent light system, Adaptive high beam assist and a panoramic sunroof.
The GLS400 also features a Harman Kardon Logic 7 Surround sound system with 14 speakers. Occupants get a 360 degree sound experience for both stereo and 5.1 channel recordings. The system also comes with speed sensitive volume control.
Safety features include adaptive,two-stage airbags for driver and front passenger, side bags for driver, front passenger and the middle row seats (combined thorax/pelvis bags) and window
bags across all three seat rows, three point seat belts on all seats, traction control PRE-SAFE system, BAS Brake Assist, ESP, Curve Dynamic Assist and cruise control. The Mercedes-Benz GLS400 is the company’s 8th launch in India for the year 2016. The petrol SUV porfolio for India now includes the GLA200, GLC300, GLE400, GLE450 AMG Coupe, GLS400 and the AMG G63.
