Honda has launched an updated version of the Jazz hatchback in India with prices starting at Rs. 7.35 lakh for the petrol and Rs. 8.05 lakh for the diesel.
There is not much different in the 2018 model when it comes to cosmetics. It gets new LED tail lights along with chrome door handles and two new exterior colours: Radiant Red Metallic and Lunar Silver metallic.
New features on the 2018 model include a 7 inch touch screen Digipad 2.0 infotainment system with Blue Tooth Audio, Apple CarPlay and navigation, start/ stop button with white and red illumination, Honda Smart Key keyless entry, cruise control, front armrest, central lock hand switch and driver’s side vanity mirror.
New safety features include rear parking sensors and speed sending door locks. Dual airbags and ABS is standard across all variants.
The Jazz will now be available in two petrol variants, V and VX and three diesel variants S, V and VX. The good news is that the CVT automatic gearbox will now be available in the range topping VX trim as well.
Mechanically there are no changes to the Jazz. It is still powered by a 1.2 litre 90 horsepower petrol engine and a 1.5 litre i-Dtec diesel engine putting out 100 horsepower. While the petrol engine gets the option of a 5 speed manual or CVT gearbox, the diesel comes mated to a six speed manual only.
The Honda Jazz rivals the Maruti Baleno and the Hyundai i20 in the Indian market.
