Jeep Meridian Interior
Getting inside, you will notice that the dashboard layout and design is similar to the Compass facelift launched in 2021. Unlike the Compass which gets an all black theme, the Merdian gets a two tone brown and black upholstery all over. The stitching on the seats is also different. The quality of materials used everywhere inside the cabin is top notch and nice to the touch as well. The 10.25 inch digital instrument cluster and the 10.1 inch touchscreen infotainment is from the Compass. I had loved the interface and the graphics in the Compass and my opinion stays the same here too. It gets Android Auto, Apple CarPlay and a 360 degree camera as well. Other features include a large panoramic sunroof, 9 speaker Alpine sound system, wireless charging, dual zone auto climate control, ventilated and powered front seats, 6 airbags, Hill Start Assist, traction Control, electronic parking brake, rain sensing wipers, etc.
The middle row seats are more comfortable that those in the Compass. The extra width surely help here and the seats have been reprofiled as well. The backrest reclines but the seat base doesn’t slide which is a disappointment. Now coming to the third row. Access is via a one touch tumble of the middle row seat. The seats of the third row are placed on the floor and that is a downer. You sit with your knees up, even a short person like me. There is lack of space for feet as well. The fact that the second row doesn’t slide forward doesn’t help things either. The third row seat is for kids at best or for large amount of luggage. There is 481 litres of space with the third row folded, and space is decent for a couple of bags with all three rows up. The powered tail gate is a nice addition too.
