2022 Jeep Grand Cherokee Interior
Climb into the Grand Cherokee and what you see is a very upmarket cabin. I love that fact that there is an all black interior and while it premium, it also feels touch and built to last. Black will also mean mud stains wont be too apparently visible when you go off-roading. The centre 10.1 inch infotainment screen has good readability and is nifty to use. Thankfully the Grand Cherokee does come with a host of physical buttons and knobs. A clear welcome sight in this era of big touch screens. The chunky steering feels nice to hold and gets heating function. The controls for volume and track are located behind the steering. Features are aplenty like a large panoramic sunroof, 360 camera with washers, 9 speaker Alpine sound system, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, 8 airbags, level 2 ADAS bits like blind spot monitoring, adaptive cruise control, lane keep assist, automatic braking and cross traffic alert.
Due to the width of the SUV, there are large front seats which are very comfortable and offer fantastic support. They get 8 way electric adjust and also ventilation and heating. I simply love the driving position in the Grand Cherokee. The rear is as comfortable as the front but the seat base is set low. Despite the transmission tunnel set a bit high, three can sit comfortably. Head room and legroom is more than sufficient. Under thigh support could be an issue for very tall passengers. The reclining back rest only adds to comfort levels. You also get manual sun blinds at the rear.
The boot can swallow more than 1000 litres of luggage. The Grand Cherokee features an electric tailgate. The button to close the tailgate is located on the D pillar rather than the tail gate itself. An 18 inch space saver tyre is placed under the boot floor.
