2021 Volvo S60 Engine & Performance

The new Volvo S60 will only be available in the T4 guise in the Indian market. What you get is a 2.0 litre turbo charged petrol motor good for 190 horsepower and 300 Nm of torque. Straight up the S60 feels very relaxed to drive. Acceleration is very linear and the motor gets more responsive after 1800 rpm. The 8 speed automatic gearbox works like a charm and paddle shifters add to the driving experience. That said, the performance starts to taper off as you cross the 4500 rpm mark and the engine does tend to get noisy. Comfort mode is the best for daily driving and if you do want to get a little enthusiastic, the Dynamic mode betters throttle response and the gear shifts.

2021 Volvo S60 Ride & Handling

Ride quality is good for most part but there is a stiffness in the suspension that gives you a one off thud when you go over bad roads at moderate speeds. Go faster and things become better and the road undulations are absorbed easily without the S60 losing composure. In terms of handling, the S60 is not a hard cornering lover and there is a certain amount of body roll. While feedback from the steering is decent, it could definitely have been better. In the city, the S60 feels easy to drive and the steering feels light. It is very stable at highway speeds and braking does have a lot of bite as well.
