2021 Volvo S60 Interior

Step inside the new S60 and you are in familiar Volvo territory. The cabin features a black interior theme. While two tone beige is a popular choice and give an airy feeling, I personally like dark themes. What strikes you immediately is the quality and fit and finish of this interior. The leather feels premium and there are soft touch surfaces everywhere. I loved the knurled finish on the volume, engine start stop switch and the AC vent controls. The tab style 9 inch Sensus touch screen sits flush in the centre surrounded by vertical AC vents. As with all Volvos, physical buttons are at the minimum and almost every function including climate control is operated via the touch screen. This can get distracting while driving. That said, the graphics are sharp and crystal clear. Everything is very easy to read and the screen is slick to use. It also comes with Android Auto, Apple CarPlay and Navigation. The 12.3 inch digital instrument cluster serves the purpose and it is very clear to read with round dials. None of the fancy stuff that comes in other new cars these days and I like that. The three spoke steering is also nice to hold and feels plush. The S60 gets four zone climate control that managed to cool the cabin effectively.  on a hot Sunday morning. Other goodies include wireless charging, 14 speaker 600 W Harman Kardon Sound system, a separate valley key and a panoramic sunroof.

The seats are another plus on the S60. The front seats are large and support is excellent. You also get extenders for more under thigh support. The seats get electric adjust and memory function as well. There is also four way adjust for lumbar support. There is a good amount of legroom at the rear too. The front seat backs are scooped out and the chauffeur driven will be a happy lot. The front passenger seat can be moved forward via a button on the touchscreen. The seat base is lower however, and tall passengers will find themselves in the knee up position. The high central tunnel makes the rear bench best for two. The backrest has a good angle and offers a lot of comfort. The digital AC controls are a nice touch and a couple of C type USB slots will take care of your power and charging needs at the back. The boot is deep enough and will swallow your weekend getaway luggage and do well for those airport runs as well. The space saver spare wheel is tucked away under the boot floor.
