The new Volvo S60 has been a long time coming. The earlier model was discontinued in India way back in 2019 and this new one was supposed to launch by the end of that year. We spent a day with this new Swede on the block to get first impressions. Read on.
2021 Volvo S60 Exterior
Volvo has been getting the designs of their new generations just spot on and the new S60 is no different. You would be mistaken to think it’s an S90, a shrunken version at that. The S60 is built on Volvo’s Scalable Platform Architecture. It measures 4,761 mm in length, 1,431 mm in height, 1,850 mm width and has a wheelbase of 2,872 mm. The face is bold and there’s a wide chrome front grille with vertical slats and the Volvo trademark Thor Hammerhead headlamps are a standout as usual. The other highlight is the long bonnet with a bulge which looks very classy. The front bumper gets round fog lamps in chrome surround enclosures. There are 18 inch alloy wheels in a multi spoke design that look sporty. The side has a clean design with a prominent character line at the C pillar that extends to the tail lamps. The rear too is similar to the S90 with C shaped LED tail lamps with nice detailing. The boot looks chunky with an integrated lip spoiler, and there is prominent VOLVO lettering on the boot lid. Twin exhausts complete the rear. The Volvo S60 will be offered in India in single Inscription trim level.
