The 2021 Jeep Compass has been revealed in India. It comes with a host of updates and features. Production of the SUV has begun at the Ranjangaon plant and the market launch is expected soon. Jeep has also announced the opening of bookings of the new Compass.
On the exterior, the Compass retains the trademark 7 slat front grille and the trapezoidal wheel arches. It gets new LED projector headlamps and new LED tail lamps. There are new design alloy wheels and this new green exterior paint shade looks quite smashing. A new front bumper feature new fog lamp housings.
The 2021 Jeep Compass gets an all new interior. There is an all new dashboard with soft touch materials, a new three spoke steering wheel and a new 10.25 inch digital instrument cluster with 24 content screens. The front seats gets 8 way electric adjust with ventilation. A refreshed centre console see a new 10.1 inch touchscreen with the UConnect5 infotainment system. There are new slim AC vents as well. The selector for the SelecTerrain Off-road system is now a toggle switch next to the gear lever.
The feature list includes dual zone climate control, wireless charging, 360 degree camera, panoramic sunroof and powered tail gate. Safety features include 6 airbags, ABS with EBD and brake assist, traction control, ESC, hill-start assist, hill-descent and ISOFIX.
The interior of the 2021 Compass will be offered in dual tone or all black trims and will feature leather and fabric upholstery based on the variant.
The UConnec5 on the updated Compass features integrated Amazon Alexa support, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto . It can receive Over the Air (OTA) updates for the system as well.
A mobile app offers a number of functions like unlocking / locking doors, Vehicle Health Report, geo fencing, Stolen Vehicle Assist, Safety Service feature incase of an accident and Driver Analytics.
The 2021 Compass is powered a 2.0-litre diesel engine developing 173hp and 350Nm of torque and a 1.4-litre turbo-petrol engine putting out 163hp and 250Nm of torque. Both engines get a six speed manual as standard. The petrol gets an optional 7 speed dual clutch automatic and the diesel gets a 9 sped torque convertor automatic gearbox. The diesel also gets optional 4×4.
Jeep will also be bringing in a new 7 seater SUV and will locally assemble the Wrangler and the Grand Cherokee in India by 2022.
