Hyundai Alcazar Interior

Step inside and the dashboard layout is similar to the Creta. What the Alcazar  gets however are cognac brown interiors which add a premium feel and plushness to the cabin. The flat bottom steering feels nice to hold and looks familiar. There is a 10.25 inch digital instrument cluster with personalized themes. The themes change according to the drive mode selected or it can be done via the 10.25 inch touchscreen infotainment system. The most interesting theme is the Cube theme, which looks quite funky. The infotainment system works well and is easy to use. Its slick and there isn’t any lag. If features are at the top of your priority list, the Alcazar has you covered. There is a panoramic sunroof, 64 colour ambient lighting, 8 speaker BOSE sound system, wireless smartphone charging, air purifier, auto headlamps, auto climate control, 360 degree surround camera, remote engine start blind view monitor, front and rear parking sensors.

The Alcazar also features the Bluelink connected car tech with 60 features and Over the Air Map updates. Bluelink can be accessed via a smartphone app or a smartwatch. It also features a Welcome Greeting and a new set of voice commands.

The front seats have great comfort levels and are supportive. The driver’s seat gets 8 way electric adjust and the seats are ventilated as well. Moving behind, the Alcazar is offered with 6 and 7 seat configurations. Our test car was the 6 seater variant with captain seats. You get a centre console in the middle row as well in this trim, which houses a wireless charger and cup holders. What’s more, there are foldable tables where you can place and I-Pad and there are pop out cup holders too. The captain seats will suit those who are chauffeur driven and while comfort is adequate, under thigh support could have been better. The seats however can slide behind and can be reclined for a relaxed sitting position.

Flip and tumble down the middle row seats to gain access to the third row. Also noteworthy is that both the 60:40 split seats in the 7 seater can fold down for access to the last row. The side foot step also helps. While outright space isn’t in the league of the Safari, it’s not totally tight. Headroom is sufficient, but there isnt much knee room is at a premium. Taller people will sit in a slightly knee up position, but short adults and kids should be ok. You can free up some space if the second row passenger is willing to compromise a bit. The third row also gets USB charging points and AC controls. Boot space with all three rows up is 180 litres and you can increase space by folding down the third and second rows. However, the centre console of the second row does become a hinderance in the six seater variant.
