The 2020 Audi RS7 Sportback has been launched in India at Rs. 1.94 crore ex showroom. This the second generation of the four door Sportback. It goes on sale as a CBU.
Powering the new Audi RS7 is a 4.0 litre twin turbo V8 engine combined with a 48V mild hybrid system developing 600 horsepower and 800 Nm torque. The engine is mated to an eight speed automatic gearbox that sends power to all four wheels via Audi’s quattro all wheel drive system. It goes from 0 to 100 kph in just 3.6 seconds with a limited top speed of 250 kph. Opting for the Dynamic Package pushes the top speed up to 280kph, and if you go for the Dynamic Plus it goes up further to 305kph. Other features include all wheel steering, carbon ceramic brakes, adaptive air suspension and cylinder deactivation.
The new Audi RS7 gets an all black single frame grille with honey comb mesh finished in black. There are new Matrix LED headlamps, redesigned front bumper with larger air intakes, LED tail lamps linked by an LED bar, a boot spoiler that is operated electronically and rises at speeds over 100 kph, new rear bumper and oval tail lamps. It comes shod with 21 inch alloy wheels as standard with 22 inchers as an option.
On the interior, the new RS7 features a dual touchscreen setup, Virtual cockpit instrument cluster, RS flat bottom steering wheel with paddle shifters and multi function buttons,S sport seats covered with Valcona leather, featuring a honeycomb pattern and RS embossing. Special RS displays use the Audi virtual cockpit to provide details of tire pressure, torque, performance, oil temperature, boost pressure, lap times, acceleration, and g-forces. The shift light display prompts the driver to upshift when the rev limit is reached. There are logo projectors on the front and rear doors beam the Audi Sport emblem onto the ground when the doors are open.
The Audi RS7 goes up against the BMW M5 Competition and the Mercedes-AMG E63S in the Indian market.
