The updated BMW 7 Series has been launched in India Prices for the 2019 limousine start from Rs. 1.22 crore all India ex showroom. The facelift comes with a number of updates.

The 7 Series facelift will come with a 3.0-litre in-line six-cylinder diesel engine putting out 265 horsepower. Also on offer will be a 3.0 litre six cylinder petrol engine that puts out 340 horsepower. Both engines come mated to an eight speed automatic gearbox.

BMW will also offer the 745Le X Drive hybrid variant in India. It will come powered by a 3.0 litre putting out 286 horses and 450 Nm torque and an electric motor that develops 113 horses and 265 Nm torque. Total combined power output stands at 394 horsepower and 600 Nm torque. The 745Le features the X Drive all wheel drive system sending power to all four wheels.

Topping the 7-Series lineup in India will be the M760Li powered by a 6.6-litre twin-turbocharged V12 petrol engine developing 585hp and 850Nm of torque. Power is sent to all four wheels via an eight speed automatic gearbox. The M760Li goes from 0 to 100 kph in just 3.8 seconds.

As far as styling updates go, the 7 Series gets restyled front and rear bumpers, a reworked bonnet, tweaked headlamps and tail lamps and the new XL size BMW kidney front grille.

Other features across variants include the latest iDrive with gesture control, electrically adjustable rear seats, tablet controller in the rear armrest, BMW laser headlamps, multi zone climate control, 460 W Harman Kardon sound system and a panoramic roof. BMW’s autonomous parking system is also available on select variants.

The 2019 7 Series is available in the following variants: Design Pure Excellence (DPE), Design Pure Excellence Signature and M Sport.  The 7 Series rivals the Mercedes-Benz S-Class, Jaguar XJ and Audi A8 in India.
