My love for Range Rovers exists from my childhood days in the 80s when I grew up in Dubai and today I can happily say that I have driven quite a few of them over the years. I love the fact that despite growing modern in design, the trademark elements that speak “I am a Range Rover” still exist. The Range Rover line up today consists of the Evoque, the oh so gorgeous Velar, the Sport and the flagship Range Rover. The latter two have received an update for 2018 and the Sport came to the garage for a few days. There’s quite a bit to talk about on this facelifted Rangie so here goes.

2018 Range Rover Sport Exterior

There is no change to the essential Range Rover design language. There are redesigned front and rear bumpers which add a lot of character. All LED headlamps are now standard while the higher level trims get Pixel LED Adaptive beams that can project up to half a km once you cross 80 kph. Coming back to the LED headlamps, they light up one by one in sequence and that is quite a sight. Fantastic attention to detail there. The 21 inch alloy wheels look delicious and look super cool when the Sport stands at its lowest ride height. There is gloss black finish on the roof, mirrors, bumpers and the roof spoiler. Twin exhausts and a diffuser element in the rear bumper complete the tail. The ORVMs also project the Range Rover log on the road at night.
