The 2018 Mini Cooper model range has been launched in India. The updated Mini comes with cosmetic changes to the exterior and interior.

On the exterior, the new Mini gets modified circular LED headlamps, new lens design, full LED daytime running lamps with integrated LED indicators. Adaptive LED headlamps are also available as an option. These incorporate cornering lamps and Matrix lights that gives better visibility. The new tail lights now feature a Union Jack Design.

Options on the interior include Leather Chester Malt upholstery coupled with Malt Brown colour line. The surface area of the centre console and the door pads are finished in Piano Black. A backlit interior surface can be ordered as an option on the passenger side of the dashboard where the MINI Yours Interior Style Piano Black Illuminated – features a stylized Union Jack backlit by colours of the ambient lighting of MINI Excitement Pack. The MINI Excitement Pack features LED interior and ambient lighting which illuminates the cockpit with a choice 12  colours. It also includes the new MINI logo projection from the exterior mirror on the driver’s side when opening and closing the door.

A multifunction steering wheel is now standard along with sports seats at the front. A panoramic glass roof is optional. The 6.5 inch circular screen for the infotainment now comes with the option of a touch screen.

The optional MINI Wired package offers an 8.8 inch touch screen with Touchpad controller, MINI Find Mate, Navigation System Professional, MINI Connected XL, telephony with wireless charging, 2nd USB interface and a 20 GB internal hard drive for all media storage. Other infotainment options now include Apple CarPlay along with MINI Radio Visual Boost + MINI Navigation or with Wired Package and the 360 watts Harmon Kardon Hi-Fi Speaker System with 12 speakers and an eight-channel digital amplifier.

The Mini Cooper S hatch and convertible are powered by a 2.0 litre twin turbo petrol engine that develops 192 horsepower and 280 Nm of torque. It does the 0 to 100 kph sprint in 6.7 seconds and a top speed of 235 kph. The engine comes mated to a 7 speed steptronic dual clutch automatic gearbox. Mini is also offering an upgrade for the 7 speed gearbox that features shorter gear ratios, a differentiated gear lever, gaiter with red stripes and shift paddles on the steering wheel.

The Mini 3 door and 5 door Cooper D feature a 1.5 litre 3 cylinder Turbo diesel engine that puts out 114 horses and 270 Nm torque. It has a top speed of 205 km/h and accelerates from 0 to 100 km/hr in 9.2 seconds.

There are three drive modes: Green, Mid and Sport. Other features include Cruise Control, optional Park Assistant, Rear View Camera and Head-Up Display.

Safety features comprise of front and passenger airbags, Brake Assist, 3-Point Seat Belts, Dynamic Stability Control, Crash Sensor, ABS and Cornering Brake Control.
