We recently reported that Ferrari is working on a new sports car which could be the new Dino. The guys at Top Speed have now caught a test mule based on a 458 body doing the rounds. According to Top Speed’s photographers, it did not sound like a V8. Additionally it was being followed by a 488 that wasnt sounding like a turbo V8 either but more like a V6 turbo unit.
In our earlier story we had said that the upcoming Dino would be powered by a 2.9 litre V6 engine based on the motor used in the new Alfa Romeo Giulia but reworked to duty in the Prancing Horse.
The new engine is also expected power Ferraris of the future and an entry level California along with other sports cars is also expected to be powered by this power plant.
The good fellas at Top Speed have come up with a rendering based on the test mule to give an idea as to how the car would look like. We like what we see.
