The 2017 Skoda Octavia facelift has been launched in India at a starting price of Rs. 15.49 lakh ex showroom India. The updated model comes with some styling changes over the previous gen car.

2017 Skoda Octavia facelift features

On the exterior the Skoda Octavia facelift gets a quad headlamp design similar to what was seen on the W212 Mercedes E-Class. They are adaptive all LED units and the higher trim models get auto high beam function. The car also gets restyled bumpers and bonnet. There are new LED fog lights as well. Other features include new design 16 inch alloy wheels and slightly reworked LED tail lamps.On the inside, there is new infotainment system with an 8 inch screen. It features Android Auto, Apple CarPlay and MirrorLink compatibility. There is a new steering wheel and an new design instrument cluster. Other features include dual zone climate control, parking assist function and ambient light in the range topping variant.

2017 Skoda Octavia facelift engines

Mechanically the Octavia remains unchanged. Engine options include a 1.4 litre TSI petrol developing 150 hp and 250 Nm mated to a six speed manual gearbox, a 1.8 litre TSI petrol engine producing 180 horses and 250 Nm with only a 7 speed DSG gearbox and the popular 2.0 litre TDI diesel motor making 143 horsepower and 320 Nm of torque. This engine is available with either a six speed manual or a six speed DSG automatic gearbox.

The Skoda Octavia rivals the Hyundai Elantra and Toyota Corolla Altis in the Indian market.
