2017 Nissan GT-R breaks cover at New York
The 2017 Nissan GT-R has been revealed at the 2016 New York International Auto Show. The updated model gets styling changes and more power.
On the exterior, the new GT-R gets a larger front grille finished in matte chrome and comes with new mesh design. The new grille aids in better engine cooling. The car features a new bonnet which has been reinforced for better stability during high speed driving. The new GT-R also gets a new Blaze Metallic exterior paint shade. Other changes include restyled bumpers, new headlamps and new alloy wheels. The cabin of the new Nissan GT-R features Nappa leather upholstery with new design front seats along with a new instrument cluster. There is a new 8 inch screen for the infotainment system and switches in the cabin have been reduced from 27 to just 11 in the new car. The multi function steering wheel now gets paddle shifters as well. The Premium Edition variant gets three trim options: Rakuda Tan, Amber Red and Ivory. The 3.8 litre V6 engine that powers the Nissan GT-R now develops 565 horsepower, 20 more than the earlier model. Nissan claims a flatter torque curve for better acceleration. The engine is mated to a revised six speed dual clutch gearbox. The GT-R Premium trim models get a Titanium exhaust system along with Active Noise Cancellation and Active Sound Enhancement as standard.
The new Nissan GT-R will go on sale internationally later this year and is expected to reach Indian shores by the festive season this year.
