The new 2016 Jaguar XF has been launched in India at a price of Rs. 49.50 lakh ex showroom Delhi. The new car is available in three variants: Pure, Prestige and Portfolio.
The new Jaguar XF is7 mm shorter and 3 mm lower than the older car. The wheelbase is 2960 mm which is 51 mm longer than before. The new XF uses aluminium as major component in its construction which makes it 190 kg lighter than its predecessor.The new car features Adaptive LED headlights along with signature Jaguar ‘J’ blade daytime running lamps. The rear features slim LED tail lamps that remind you of the F-Type. Dual exhausts complete the rear end. The car retains its coupe style looks just like its predecessor.
On the interior, the new XF gets a new InControl Touch Infotainment system with a 10.2 screen. While the Pure and Prestige get the InControl Touch, the Portfolio gets the InControl Touch Pro system. There is a Bespoke 825W Meridian digital surround sound system with 17 speakers and there is a new 12.3 inch TFT instrument cluster. There is Mood Lighting with a choice of ten colours. Rear ‘knee-room’ has increased by 24 mm, and ‘leg-room’ has increased by 15 mm, making it more spacious than the previous car.While the Pure variant gets 17 inch alloys and electronically-adjustable front seats, the Prestige variant sees the addition of perforated leather seats, and a memory function for the driver seat and steering wheel. The range topping Portfolio gets 18-inch alloy wheels and 14-way adjustable electric front seats.
The new Jaguar XF comes with the brand new 2.0 litre four cylinder Ingenium diesel engine that develops 180 horsepower and 430 Nm of torque. The XF is the first JLR product in India to receive the Ingenium motor. This engine is available in the Pure, Prestige and Portfolio variants. It goes from 0 to 100 kph in a claimed 8.1 seconds.
The new Jaguar XF also gets the 2.0 litre petrol engine that develops 240 horsepower and 340 Nm torque. This is the same engine that does duty in the XE ad goes from 0 to 100 kph in a claimed seven seconds.
Both engines are mated to an eight speed automatic gearbox that drives the rear wheels. Jaguar has also equipped the new XF with ‘Jaguar Drive Control’, which allows one to select between four driving modes – Standard, Eco, Dynamic or Rain/Ice/Snow.
