This year’s Pebble Beach saw the unveiling of one of the most anticipated cars in recent times. After some teasers that spanned the past few weeks, Bugatti finally took the covers off  the limited edition Divo hyper car.

The Bugatti Divo is named after French racing driver Albert Divo. The design is a far cry away from the Chiron. It gets a host of styling changes and new aerodynamics that has resulted in an additional 90 kg of downforce.  There is a new front fascia. There are larger air intakes and wider front spoiler. Additionally there are new headlights and rear diffuser that houses four exhaust pipes. Also check out the aerodynamic side skirts and rear spoiler that also doubles up as an air brake. The new spoiler is 25 percent wider than that of the Chiron. The Divo is 35 kg lighter than the Chiron thanks to lighter wheels and a carbon fibre intercooler cover. Weight is also saved due to a lighter sound system and omission of storage spaces in the centre console and doors.

Power comes from the same 8.0 litre quad turbo W16 engine that is seen in the Chiron. The motors makes 1500 horsepower and a mind boggling 1,600 Nm of torque. Bugatti claims a 0 to 100 kph timing of 2.4 seconds. The engine is mated to a seven speed dual clutch gearbox. Top speed has been limited to 380 kph because it wants the Divo to be more of a track focussed car than outright straight line speed. The Divo has lapped the Nardo circuit 8 seconds faster than the Chiron. Lateral acceleration is also higher at 1.6g compared to 1.5g of the Chiron.

Coming to the interior, the Divo features a two tone layout comprising of Divo Grey Alcantara upholstery and Divo Racing Blue accents.  There is carbon fibre trim all around and metal accents finished in glass-blasted anodized grey. The flat bottom steering wheel gets larger paddle shifters.

Only 40 units will ever be produced with each going for a whopping 5 million Euros. Of course you cant buy one even if you had the money because it has been sold out. Not surprising at all.
