Volkswagen Virtus Ride, Handling, Safety
We drove on pretty much straight and nicely laid roads. At slow speeds the steering is light, driving in city traffic is an absolute ease. As the speed build up, the steering weighs in a bit but we would loved to weigh in more. The Virtus is feels very stable at high speeds and can do triple digit speeds all day long. The GT’s suspension is a bit stiffer compared to 1.0 variant. We did go over a few bad patches of road, but nothing unsettled the car. There is an amount of body roll going into corners thanks to the high ground clearance though.
The Virtus gets 6 airbags along with ESC, Park Distance Control, Multi-collision Brakes, Hil Hold Assist. Front brakes are disc while rear is traditional drum based. We would have preferred an all-disc set up considering the strong performance of this sedan.
