Toyota has announced opening of bookings for the Toyota Yaris sedan. Prices for the Yaris start from Rs. 8.75 lakh for the base J variant going up to Rs. 14.07 lakh for the VX CVT model. These prices are introductory.
The Toyota Yaris was first showcased at the 2018 Auto Expo. On the exterior it features projector headlamps, daytime running lamps, black air dam at the front and wrap around tail lamps.
On the interior, the Yaris gets a two tone dashboard, touch screen for the infotainment system, roof mounted AC, 4.2 inch TFT screen for the multi information display and electrically adjustable driver’s seat. Feature list includes:

- Power Driver Seat
- Roof mounted air vents with ambient illumination for rear passengers
- Adjustable Rear Centre Headrest

- Hand /Air Gesture controlled Infotainment system with Touch Screen Navigation
- Paddle Shift for CVT + Cruise Control
Safety features include 7 airbags, all around disc brakes, ABS with ABD, Vehicle Stabilty Control, Hill Start Assist, rear camera with front and rear sensors, ISOFIX child seats and rain sensing wipers.
The Yaris is powered by a 1.5 litre 4 cylinder petrol engine that develops 10 horsepower. The engine is mated to a 6 speed manual and a 7 speed CVT gearbox. There is no diesel engine on offer.
The Yaris can be booked at Toyota dealerships for an amount of Rs. 50,000.
The Toyota Yaris rivals the Honda City, Maruti Ciaz and the Hyundai Verna in the Indian market.
