The updated version of Tata’s Tiago NRG cross hatchback has hit the roads and quite discreetly so.

The NRG sports such visual cues as afford it a rugged appeal over a regular Tata Tiago. This is achieved employing additional body cladding, roof rails, faux skid plates and higher ground clearance (10mm greater than a regular Tiago’s 170mm).

The NRG was first launched in September 2018 and was offered in manual drivetrains, namely 1.2-litre 85 hp petrol and a 1.05-litre 70 hp diesel. The updated NRG now includes a petrol AMT variant that, at Rs. 6.15 lakh commands a premium of Rs. 45,000 over the manual option.

The NRG is equipped with reflector headlamps and 14-inch steelies with hubcaps, all window power steering, electrically adjustable wing mirrors and remote locking among other things. This time around, there have been additions in terms of a 7-inch infotainment screen with Android Auto and Apple car play and auto folding wing mirrors that will increase the product appeal before customers.

The Tata Tiago NRG retails in a price range of Rs. 5.70 lakh to Rs. 6.55 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi), and goes up against the likes of Maruti Suzuki Celerio X and Mahindra KUV100 NXT.
