The Tata Punch SUV has finally been revealed. Showcased at the Auto Expo 2020 as the HBX concept, the Punch is the production version of the same. It will be a micro SUV that will sit below the Nexon in the Tata SUV lineup.
As with all recent Tata cars, the Punch does share design similarities with the concept. It is based on the ALFA-ARC platform that is shared with the Altroz hatchback. The front end does resemble the Harrier and the Safari and features the humanity line front grille. The fog lamps are integrated into the front bumper and the Punch gets body cladding all around including the wheel arches to give it the SUV stance. It also gets funky design alloy wheels.
There is no information on engine options yet but the Tata Punch is expected to come with a 1.2 litre petrol engine in naturally aspirated and turbo versions. Transmission options would include a manual and AMT gearbox.
Prices for the Tata Punch are expected to start just below the Rs. 5 lakh mark. Rivals to the Punch could include the Renault Kiger, Nissan Magnite and the Maruti Suzuki Ignis.
