Tata Motors will be launching the Nexon in Nepal soon. This news comes close on the heels of the Hexa launch in Nepal last week.
Guenter Butschek,the CEO and Managing Director of Tata Motors Limited. is in Kathmandu to inaugurate a three-day Global Service Camp of Tata Motors in Kathmandu. During an interview to My Republica he said, “We are launching our new car ‘Nexon’ in Nepal very soon. We see a lot of possibilities in passenger vehicles market in Nepal.”
Butschek also did not rule out the possibility of setting up a plant in Nepal but said that the move would require sufficient volume demand for atleast one product to justify the investment.
The Tata Nexon is a compact SUV that is powered by a 1.2 litre Revotron petrol engine and a 1.5 litre Revotorq diesel engine both developing 110 horsepower. As of now only a six speed manual is offered but an AMT is slated for a launch soon.
