Tata Motors have finally given a name for their upcoming H5X SUV and it will be called the Harrier. The H5X Concept was first revealed at the 2018 Auto Expo earlier this year.

The Tata H5X Concept was easily one of the show stoppers at the Expo. The production version will be built on Land Rover’s L550 platform and will come in five and seven seater versions. Tata officials confirmed that the production version will be close to the concept and we really hope that it does. Power could come from a Multi-jet diesel engine in different states of tune. It is expected to come with both manual and automatic transmission.

AS far as the concept goes, front features a uniquely styled grille and high mounted slim LED headlamps.  The  fog lamp inserts feature what the Tata Motors calls ‘tri arrow pattern. There are large 22 inch alloys and the concept features a side step that lowers down when the doors are opened. It gets a sloping roofline and smoked wrap around tail lamps. There are skid plates at both the front and the rear.

The H5X aka Harrier is the first SUV from the Tata Motors stable that will carry the Impact Design 2.0 design philosophy and is set to built at Tata’s plant in Pune.

The Harrier name isnt a stranger to the automotive world. Japanese car maker Toyota also has an SUV called the Harrier in their international model line up.

The Tata Harrier when launched, will rival the Jeep Compass and the Mahindra XUV500 in the Indian market.
