The Suzuki Swift Hybrid has been showcased at he Auto Expo 2020 as part of Maruti Suzuki’s model line up for the show.
AS of now Maruti uses mild hybrid technology in some of its models like the Ertiga and the Ciaz. The Swift Hybrid is the next level in terms of this tech.
The Suzuki Swift is powered by a 1242 cc four cylinder petrol engine putting out 92 hp and 118 Nm of torque mated to a 5 speed automated manual gearbox along with an electric motor good for 13.6 hp and 30 Nm torque.The electric motor gives the Swift Hybrid a kind of an EV mode where it can solely power the front wheels in stop go traffic and while cruising.
Maruti Suzuki currently has no plans to bring the Swift Hybrid to India. However the car maker is testing the electric version of the Wagon R that could launch next year.
