The Skoda Octavia RS has been launched at an all India ex showroom price of Rs. 24.62 lakh.

The new Skoda Octavia RS comes with a 2.0 litre TSI petrol engine that will put out 230 horsepower and 350 Nm of torque. Skoda says the RS will do the 0 to 100 kph sprint in 6.8 seconds with a limited top speed of 250 kph. The engine comes mated to a six speed DSG automatic gearbox. An electronically regulated XDS+ limited-slip differential is also standard.

On the exterior, the Octavia RS gets LED headamps, LED tail lamp, fog lamps along with LED daytime running lamps. The trademark Skoda front grille features an RS logo. At the rear, the car gets a restyled bumper, boot spoiler, rear diffuser with red reflector and stainless steel dual exhaust tips. The Octavia RS is lower by 15 mm as compared to the standard model. The RS gets 17 inch Hawk Anthracite alloy wheels.

The interior features sports seats with integrated head rests. Alcanta fabric upholstery is standard, while Alcantara leather is offered as an option. There is a three spoke sports steering with red contrast stitching, perforated leather along with paddle shifters and a leather gear knob featuring the RS logo. Other features include a 9.2-inch touchscreen for the Columbus infotainment system. The system comes with Android Auto, Apple CarPlay and MirrorLink. Safety features include nine airbags, Park Assist and ESP. The Octavia RS also gets ambient lighting with a choice of 10 colours.

We got to do a few hot laps in the new Octavia RS around a small track and what little burning of rubber that we did, we can say that at price, it is easily say it is a hot performance package at a delicious price.
