The Renault Triber has been around in the Indian market for about a year now, and it has done well for the car maker’s sales numbers. A 7 seater people mover with a compact footprint, lots of space and practicality is a combination that’s hard to beat. The only thing missing was an automatic gearbox and now Renault has launched the Triber AMT after unveiling it at the Auto Expo 2020 earlier this year. So is the Renault Triber AMT an even more compelling package? We drive it to find out.

Renault Triber AMT Exterior

On the exterior, there is nothing to distinguish the Renault Triber AMT from its manual sibling except an Easy-R badge on the tail gate. The styling is very pleasing to the eye and has good proportions despite being under four metres in length. The colour options on offer make it very eye catching as well. I myself have given the Triber a second look whenever Ive seen one on the road. I especially like this Metal Mustard shade on the test car. Other exterior features include projector headlamps,LED daytime running lamps,  black cladding on the side and wheel arches, roof rails, faux skid plates and Triber lettering on the tail gate. The Triber gets 15 inch steel wheels with wheel caps that look like alloys.

Renault Triber AMT Interior

The interior too remains unchanged. The only thing new is the AMT gear shifter. The dashboard is well laid out and there are lots of storage spaces around including an upper glovebox, cooled lower glovebox and a storage drawer under the driver’s seat . The steering feels nice to hold but steering controls should have been offered in this range topping RXZ variant. The feature list comprises of manual AC, 8 inch touch screen infotainment, push button start, digital instrument cluster and four airbags, ABS with EBD, parking sensors and rear view camera.

The seats are comfortable and have a lot of flexibility, which is the USP of the Triber. There is no height adjust for the driver though, and this is a miss. The second row has adjustment for knee room and the back rest can also recline. The third row is the most flexible and apart from that fact that it is actually useable, the third row seats can be taken out fully for more luggage space.
