Mercedes Benz has relaunched the Maybach marque in India by launching the Mercedes-Maybach S600 in India.
The Mercedes Maybach is 207 mm longer than the long wheelbase S-Class, with 200 mm being the extension between the B and C pillars. The car claims to have the quietest rear cabin in the world. Interiors feature Nappa leather upholstery that can be customised by Mercedes’ designo department, rear seats that can be reclined to 43 degrees, panoramic sunroof with Magic Sky Control, 1540 watt Burmester 3D surround system with 24 speakers, folding tables, refrigerated compartment with handcrafted champagne flutes, seven colour ambient lighting, Night View Assist Plus and Chauffeur Package. In a safety first, the rear seats get Belt Bags and Cushion bags that makes it a total of 12 airbags in the super luxury limo.
Power comes from a 6.0 litre V12 bi-turbo petrol engine developing 530 horsepower and 830 Nm of maximum torque. This behemoth goes from 0 to 100 kph in 5 seconds flat and has a top speed of 250 kph.
The company has also announced that it will be locally producing the Mercedes-Maybach S500 at the Chakan plant in Pune. This is the first Maybach to be assembled outside Germany.
The Maybach S600 will be imported as a CBU and is priced at Rs. 2.6 crore ex showroom Pune while the locally assembled Maybach S500 is priced at Rs. 1.67 crore ex showroom Pune. The company says that the Maybach S600 has sold out in in India 2 weeks before launch. Bookings for the Maybach S500 are now open.
