Mercedes-Benz India has announced its model display for the Auto Expo 2016 next month.
The company will showcase the new GLC SUV that was launched last year. It replaces the GLK in the international market and is based on Mercedes’ new Modular Rear Architecture platform.
The GLC continues with Mercedes’ new design language. The front resembles the new C-Class and you can order LED headlamps as an option. The bumpers with integrated underguard come in three variants: in addition to the base version there is a version optimised for off-road use with a larger angle of approach/departure, and an AMG variant. The rear also gets similar bumpers and split LED tail lamps.
Mercedes will also unveil the India bound S-Class cabriolet at the Auto Expo. Termed to be the “most beautiful and exclusive S-Class cars of all time”, its styling is similar to that of the S-Class Coupe but comes with a three-layer acoustic soft top which is available in black, dark blue, beige and dark red. The soft top can be opened or closed in 20 seconds at speeds up to 60 kph. The soft top is separated from the remaining luggage compartment space by means of an electrically operated retractable cover which encloses the soft top. This luggage compartment partition extends automatically during opening of the soft top. The S-Class cabriolet is expected to be one of the 12 launches this year by Mercedes-Benz India. The Mercedes-Maybach S600 Guard will also be showcased at the Expo. For racing enthusiasts, the company will display the W06 Formula 1 Championship winning car. Additionally, a number of models from Mercedes’ local and international range will be on display.
The Mercedes-Benz pavilion will be located at Hall 15 at the Auto Expo
