Mercedes-Benz S400 launched at Rs. 1.31 crore
The Mercedes-Benz S400 has been launched in India at a price of Rs. 1.31 crore ex showroom Hyderabad. The car will be locally produced at the company’s Chakan plant in Pune.
The S400 features a 3.0 litre V6 twin turbo petrol engine that is also seen in the E-Class Cabriolet. It produces 333 horsepower and 480 Nm of maximum torque. The engine is mated to Mercedes’ 7G TRONIC seven speed dual clutch gearbox. It does not get the nine speed (G TRONIC transmission that is available on the GLE SUV and the recently launched C250d variant of the C-Class.
The Mercedes-Benz S400 comes loaded with features like massage seats with six programs and two intensity levels, four zone climate control, panoramic sunroof with rain sensors, AIRMATIC air suspension, 1540 watt Burmester surround sound system with 24 speakers, Auto Park Assist with 360 degree camera, COMMAND Online infotainment system with animated menus and 3D effects rear entertainment system and 7 colour ambient lighting with five dimming levels. Safety features include eight airbags, ESP, Brake Assist, Hill Start Assist, Adaptive Brake with HOLD function, PRE-SAFE and Dynamic cornering control system.
The S-Class range in India includes the S350d, S400, S500 Maybach, S600 Maybach, S600 Guard, S600 Maybach Guard, S-Coupe, S63 Coupe and the AMG S63 sedan. Mercedes- Benz plans to launch 12 products in India this year.
