Mercedes-Benz will have the first mover advantage over its rivals in the Indian luxury EV space when it launches the EQC400 in the coming weeks. But with an expected price more than Rs. 1 crore, it will be an expensive buy. At that price, there are other IC engine powered full size SUV options available including Merc’s own luxurious GLS. Also the ground clearance is definitely a cause of worry. But what the EQC will give you is exclusivity, tons of it. It offers a very smooth and refined driving experience and there’s lots in terms of performance. Its luxurious too and comes with most features that you come to expect from the three pointed star. So if you want to make a statement, and don’t mind paying a price to do your bit for planet earth and flaunt that green registration plate, the Mercedes-Benz EQC will hit the right notes.
