Mercedes-Benz EQC400 4Matic Interior

Step inside and you will instantly know you are inside a Mercedes-Benz.  However, the interior does get its bit of electric theme bits too. There are two 10.25 inch screens for the instrument cluster and the latest gen MBUX infotainment system with ‘Hey Mercedes’ voice command. The graphics are crisp and the touchscreen is very easy to use.  The MBUX in the EQC gets an EQ sub menu which gives you information on consumption, energy flow between the electric motors and charging options, which shows where you can locate the nearest charger on the move. The three spoke steering wheel with touch controls is standard Merc fare. The seat adjust controls, centre console buttons etc. are familiar territory. The dashboard is raked, is neatly laid out and a highlight are those slim copper AC vents, that add a very classy touch. The extensive feature list includes an electric sunroof, three zone climate control, massage and heating function for front seats, 64 colour ambient lighting and a sweet sounding Burmester sound system.

The test car came with ARTICO man-made leather/ DINAMICA micro fibre upholstery in indigo blue and black The back rest of the front seats featured the 1886 lettering. The front seats are shaped out nicely and offer great comfort and bolstering. It is very easy to get the perfect driving position and front visibility is good too. Space at the rear is similar to that in the GLC. There is sufficient legroom but under thigh support could have been better. Headroom is adequate. There are three adjustable head rests for the occupants, and sunshades for the rear windows as well. The EQC comes with 500 litres of boot space which can be increased by dropping the rear seats.
