The new Mercedes-AMG E63S and E53 have been launched in India at an ex showroom price of Rs. 1.70 crore and Rs. 1.02 crore respectively.
The E53 is powered by a 3.0 litre in line 6 cylinder twin turbo engine featuring an exhaust gas turbocharger and an electric additional compressor that puts out 435 horsepower and 520 Nm of torque. The E63S gets the 4.0 litre twin turbo V8 good for 612 horses and whopping 850 Nm of torque. The motor is mated to a 9 speed multi clutch automatic gearbox. Both cars get the 4Matic all wheel drive system. The E53 has a top speed of 250 kph , while the E63S can go to a top speed of 300 kph.
The E53 features the AMG front grille with 12 vertical slats and large Mercedes logo in the centre. There are aggressively styled bumpers and a lip spoiler as well. The styling cues are similar to that of the facelifted E-Class sedan.
The feature list includes a 12.3 inch touchscreen infotainment system with the MBUX infotainment system, 12.3 inch digital instrument cluster, AMG performance steering wheel, 360 degree camera, 19 inch AMG alloy wheels, AMG display themes, multi drive modes: “Slippery”, “Comfort”, “Sport”, “Sport+” and “Individual”, AMG sports seats etc.
The E63S gets even more aggressive styling, 20 inch alloy wheels, drive modes – “Slippery”, “Comfort”, “Sport”, “Sport+”, “Individual” and “RACE”, Drift mode where the car becomes a full rear wheel drive.
Service packages start at: Rs. 1.19 lakhs for the AMG E 53 4M+ and Rs. 1.35 lakhs for the AMG E 63 S 4M+ for a period of 2 years.
The Mercedes-AMG E63S rivals the BMW M5 Competition and the Audi RS7 in India, The E53 doesn’t have a direct rival yet.
