Keeping the flow of new launches going, Mercedes Benz has launched the AMG C 63 S in India at a price of Rs. 1.30 crore ex showroom Delhi. It is the 11th model to launch in India this year as part of the company’s ’15 in 15′ strategy. The C 63 S is also the 10th model in the India portfolio of AMG models. Its predecessor, the W204 C 63 AMG was the best selling AMG model with around 40,000 units sold.
Power comes from a 4.0 litre twin turbo V8 petrol engine putting out 510 horsepower and 700 Nm of maximum torque. The engine is mated to a 7 speed AMG SpeedShift gearbox. There are five driving modes: Comfort, Sport, Sport+, RACE and Individual. The C63 S goes from 0 to 100 kph in 4 seconds and has an electronically limited top speed of 250 kph. In terms of looks, the C63 S gets an AMG body kit, new design AMG alloys and and quad exhausts finished in chrome. On the interior it is equipped with AMG sport seats, a flat bottom steering wheel and various carbon fibre bits. The interior can also be customised via Mercedes’ Designo program that was recently launched in India.
The AMG C 63 S will be imported as a CBU and will rival the BMW M3 in India.
